I Hate Art History

You have no idea how bad my Art History class is. My professor makes all of these anti-Christianity comments in there. For example: “In the 15th century people believed that Jesus was the Savior of mankind. And there are even a few people who believe that today.” She claims to have read the Bible, but she didn’t know that Luke and Acts were written by the same guy. Now, I don’t expect people who haven’t read those books to know that, but if you’ve read them it’s pretty obvious (they’re both addressed to Theophilus). Hayley and I have been going bananas in there lately. She and I are pretty much the only ones outraged in there by what she says, though Paulo and Jessica tend to get a little mad as well. The whole class dislikes the disrespect she shows to other tour groups, and how she keeps us long after class should have ended.

I bought a backpack today in one of the open air markets. It’s an ugly Army green color. I needed one for my trip to Venice and Florence because the one I have is a huge camping backpack that I basically can’t take with me. It was marked at 22.50 euro, but I told him it was an ugly bag. I haggled with him for a while and ended up paying 15 euro. It’s not a bad bag; it’ll get the job done.

I’m not sure what all is on tap for tonight, but tomorrow I’m going to Venice for two days. I’m really looking forward to this trip. Everyone I talk to tells me that Venice is beautiful. This is also one of the few places in Italy that I’m going that my parents did not go to, so that makes it kind of special to me. I want to take a gondola ride, but I’m going to need to split it with five other people because it costs between 100-120 euro for a 40 minute ride.

I don’t know if I’m going anywhere this Sunday anymore because the Modern Italy test that was on Monday has been made into a take-home test. The due date was moved back to Tuesday, but it’s got two essay questions. Anyway, going on a trip doesn’t look good.
