A Brief Review of Halo 2

It’s been almost a week since I’ve posted an update. It’s been a heck of a week. I’ll go over the highlights.

I have to start with this. Halo 2 was released on Tuesday. No, I was not one of the ones who stood in line waiting until midnight to get my copy. I got mine during the day on Tuesday. I played its multiplayer for the first time on Wednesday night (I got to stay up late like I used to because there was no school on Thursday) and I beat the campaign tonight. At the moment I like the first Halo’s maps better, but I think that’s because I know where everything is on those maps. I have no idea where I’m going at the moment. I do know that I love the sword and the new Ghosts and almost all of the Covenant weapons. The game came with two free months of Xbox Live but I know that as soon as I start that I won’t get anything else done for the rest of the semester. I’m thinking I might sign up for that when I go home for Christmas break and play it in Connecticut, but until then I’m going to resist the temptation.

It was a big week for me in terms of the Navs too. Why? Tuesday was my last day leading an A-Team meeting. I have to go to one more just to be an observer and to help Ross out. But if I thought that my time in charge would end smoothly I was wrong. The people at Crenshaw Lanes gave away the Nav’s reserved bowling lanes. They’re doing what they can to help us out, and at worst we’ll be bowling from 11 PM to 1 AM instead of 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM like we had planned. I’m going to try to secure a time on December 2 instead so we don’t force people to stay up until the middle of the night.

My roommate has abandoned me again to go to some retreat with IM sports. This marks the fifth time this semester that he’s gone out of town over a weekend (actually it’s the sixth, but I went with him the other time). So I’m lonely up in my room. And all the Wesley folk are gone on their big retreat so there’s no church tomorrow. I was going to go with Scott but now I don’t know where I’ll end up. Maybe with the Mormons. Maybe not.

I’ve got a test on Monday and Tuesday next week so the rest of the weekend will be spent studying and wishing it were a month from now.
