For to us a child is born,
To us a son is given,
And the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. –Isaiah 9:6
“The days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“When I will raise up to David a righteous Branch,
A King who will reign wisely
And do what is just and right in the land.” –Jeremiah 23:5
Today in the town of David
A Savior has been born to you;
He is Christ the Lord. –Luke 2:11
I have a feeling that I will soon be in the doghouse with just about everyone that I know here in Connecticut. You see, I haven’t hung out with anyone (except one person). They’re probably thinking that I don’t want to talk to them or spend time with them or that I’m a jerk or a combination of those things. These conclusions would make sense, drawing from the apparent circumstances and my personal history.

Ah, much better. So it seems that FreeServers was in the process of a server migration and that my site was affected by a DNS error. This is a technical way of saying that at some point as they were upgrading their stuff they screwed up. Thankfully the data wasn’t lost, just misplaced. For all the people (or person) affected by this I do apologize for the inconvenience.
This is yet another example of why I love Joe Chandler (taken from his AIM profile).
There are two steps you need to follow in this life:
Step One
Shrug it off.
Step Two
Transcend.
Now these two concepts might seem odd at first; the former appears to be an excuse for lethargy and the latter masquerades as if it were not an existential actualization. I tell you, foolish reader, that you could not be further from the truth. If truth were Nigeria, you would be in the Philippines– which is nowhere near Nigeria.
The first part requires detachment from worry. The second is simply seeking out a life greater than oneself.
Wow. You probably feel pretty dumb now, having questioned two integral parts to understanding the remainder of your existence. It’s alright– simply shrug it off and transcend.

One week of Christmas break is done already! That’s not good. At all. I don’t ever want to go back.
Though I’m not sure why. I got my grades on Thursday and I did a lot better than I thought I was going to do. I got an A in Christian Apologists. Let me rephrase that: I got an A in the most important class I will take for my undergraduate degree. Never in a million years did I think I would pull an A. Other class turned out good too. I got an A- in Spanish, a B in Microeconomics, and a B in Financial Markets (somehow). I’m on a hot streak all of a sudden. My overall GPA is up to a 3.4. I’m amazed at the grace God’s pouring out on my grades. I’m waiting for someone to tell me it’s a typo. Continue reading ‘Youth Group State Of Mind’
It’s official: the semester is over! I got into a discussion with my roommate about just how much college I’ve completed. I am 5/8ths of the way done going by semesters (not factoring in summer semesters), but I have 80 out of 120 credits I need to graduate, so in that case I’m 2/3rds of the way. Either way, it’s getting scary. There’s not too much left to go.
I’m writing these things to you from beautiful Marlborough, Connecticut. At least they tell me it’s beautiful; it’s been dark since I got here. The sun sets way too early here. But it is good to be home. Or rather, it’s good to be with family. I’m not really sure where home is anymore. But at any rate, I’ll be up here in the northeast from now through January 4th. If you want to hang out give me a call or email or IM or something.

Hey all, too tired from studying to type up a full update with Christmas party info and all. But I do want to bless you with this link. This commercial has been running on one of the FSU networks, and I think it’s pretty hot. Maybe you’ll think so too. It stars “Thirst,” the star of those Sprite commercials (but this isn’t a Sprite commercial). Just go watch it already.

THE NAVIGATORS’ CHRISTMAS PARTY
An annual tradition, the Navigators’ Christmas party is the highest attended and best event the Navs put on all year. It will be held at the house of the Navigators’ campus minister Dave Wirgau and the festivities will begin at 6 PM. So what makes the Nav Christmas Party so great? Well…
-
Food - Lots and lots of it. If you are interested in bringing a warm side dish or a dessert please contact Sara Fairall.
-
Toys For Tots - We will be collecting unwrapped toys to donate to this charity.
-
White Elephant Gift Exchange - A Nav Christmas Party exclusive! Bring a wrapped present with you that has little ($5 or less) to no value. All these gifts will be place under the Wirgau tree. Everyone to bring a present will draw a number. The first person selects a gift under the tree. Each subsequent person has the option to either select a gift under the tree or to take a gift from someone who has already selected. If that happens, the person who now no longer has a gift is given that same option. This game has produced such catch phrases as, “Don’t get too attached!” and “Break her heart!”
New directions! Because the Tallahassee Christmas Parade will be going on at about the same time the directions printed on the handout will be much slower. As such, it would be faster to take I-10 from Capital Circle (out by the new Super Wal-Mart), head East to Exit 209A (US 90). Make a right onto Mahan, and then Lafayette Oaks will be approximately the second light on your right. The gate will open. Go through the gate and take your first right onto Napoleon Bonaparte. Follow this for approximately 1.5 miles, merging onto Monaco Drive. Turn right on Debussy Court and drive to the end of the cul-de-sac. Dave’s house is the last on the right – 2713 Debussy Court. (If you have problems getting there, call the Wirgau home at 878-4213 or Dave’s cell at 212-0536.)
It’s going to be a lot of fun. This is not a Nav-only event by any means. Bring your friends! I hope to see you there tonight!
Sorry this entry is so choppy. I’ve got a lot to do, but I wanted to tell you some cool stuff.
So it’s official: today I am no longer A-Team leader. It still hasn’t sunk in. To be honest I don’t think it will until January when I’m really confused about why things are happening the way they are.
