My Weekend Spent Not Skiing

Quote of the Day: “I’m sorry, but that book just has no value.” — The sales attendant at the FSU Bookstore, telling me that a book made especially for FSU finance classes was not being bought back. Incidentally, Bill’s Bookstore bought it back for $21.

Alright, so while every other Nav here at FSU will be filling their blog with stories of the ski trip I will be telling you how happy I am to have not gone. Did I miss out on a lot of fun? Sure. Would I have liked to have spent a weekend with my friends? Of course. Does my dislike of snow outweigh both of those things? You better believe it. Plus think of it this way. I was just in Connecticut, where I could have gone skiing to my heart’s content if I had wanted to. I’m not going to go on a ski trip now when it’s going to cost me an arm and a leg to do it.

So what did I do with my weekend? A lot of it was just spent getting stuff done. I played poker with Allen, Adam and some of their friends. I hung out with my Wesley peeps. I hung out with Brad for the first time in months. As far as I see it I think everyone else missed out. Okay, maybe it wasn’t quite that good. But I don’t regret my decision.

Yay for a short week! A tough week though. I had a pop quiz in Spanish today with a test in Spanish on Thursday. Friday will bring a quiz in Organizational Behavior. And I’ve got a feeling that a pop quiz is coming in Religion & Science. As always there’s lots of reading. Ugh!

I’ll end with sports. I went 3-1 on my NFL picks this weekend. The Pats pulled it off; looking back on it I’m not sure why I doubted that that would happen. So I’ve pulled to an even 4-4 for the postseason. I think we’re looking at both of the #2 seeds making the Super Bowl. I’m picking New England and Atlanta.
