There’s A Hookah Bar In Tallahassee?

These past few days have been kind of strange. Even for me.

Thursday began with a Spanish test and a Religion & Science pop quiz (I so called it). Continued on like usual with a meeting with Dave and Nav Night. And it ended with a trip to the local hookah bar. I shared this adventure with Sweet Joe, one of his friends, James, Liz and Mandi. James and I picked grape-flavored tobacco, which was probably the only lame part of the whole experience. Other than that it was lots of fun. I left feeling very relaxed and a little buzzed. I didn’t even know this place existed until that night. That won’t be my last trip there.

Friday was uneventful until the Rez Rally. Actually I guess it was a Rec Rally, since this year they’re calling it Reconciliation Week (instead of Resurrection Week). I’m really excited about it this year. The past two have felt like a big party. This year it feels like we’re going to be doing some real work. One of the big things they’re taking on is racial reconciliation. We’ll see what happens. Rec Week starts on February 6 at 11 PM in Wesley’s bomb shelter. There’ll be corporate worship nights Tuesday through Thursday at 8 PM in Moore Auditorium.

Later on that night a lot of us Navs went to the midnight dollar breakfast at RFoC. One of the highlights of this was that it gave me a unique perspective on Liz. A night after seeing her at her calmest I got to see her at her goofiest. Oh my, what a crazy woman. It figures though, as she is my [fish] sister after all.

Today was the first Nav worship band practice of the semester. And when I say “band” I mean duo. After all, the band is just me and Rob now. And yes, the rumors are true: I’m the percussionist (I’ll be on djembe). It’s a good thing we practiced because we play for Nav Night this coming Thursday.

I’ve got to work on homework for the rest of the day. Tomorrow will be some great football and I don’t want to miss that. Like I said, it’s going to be the Pats and the Falcons.
