Why is it cold in Florida? Yesterday morning it was 21 degrees; this morning only improved to 27. Mostly I hate the wind, but the whole thing isn’t fun. I should have gone to school somewhere on the equator.
Did you hear the Oscar nods? I am so happy that neither Passion of the Christ nor Fahrenheit 911 got nominated for anything. It would have been such a mess. If Passion had been nominated for Best Picture but didn’t win you’d be hearing it from nutty Christians for a long time. Now I admit to being a Christian and to being nutty, but this is a whole different thing I’m talking about (I’m assuming you understand what I mean). As it is you’ll hear them complain about not getting a nomination, but I think that’s better than losing.
Another weekend of football gone by and here I am sitting on a .500 record. I’m 5-5 for playoff predictions. This has been one of my worst years ever for any sport. So it’s going to come down to the big game to determine if I’m a winner or a loser. I’ve got to go with the Patriots. There’s no stopping them. Unless, as we saw this year, [a] you start the rookie-of-the-year quarterback against them while their running back is injured, or [b] you play against them in Miami (boo yeah!). But Dillon is healthy, the Eagles’ QB is not Roethlisberger, and the Super Bowl is in north Florida not south Florida. So all signs point to three out of four for the Pats.
For the first time this semester I’m starting to feel the burden of all the work I have. I’ve just recently gotten a little behind in my reading and it feels like it’s looming over me. It’s only Tuesday and I’m dying for the weekend if only to catch up.
Anyone who did not have their TV tuned in to 24 last night missed the episode that defined the “real plot” for the rest of the season. And it is insane. Somehow they have found a way to once again make the potential disaster infinitely worse than the one from last season.
I leave you with an announcement that will shake the very core of your being: Joe Chandler is on TheFaceBook.
