Quote of the Day: “Can God actually call you to two different things that are both good?” — Inese Radzins, my Christian Tradition professor, throwing out a rhetorical question based on a woman being called to both motherhood and to being a preacher, and essentially having to choose one
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” –Isaiah 30:21
It’s sad but true: the Lady Seminoles lost to the UConn Huskies last night 70-52. We were doing so well through the first 10 minutes of the game. We even outscored them in the second half. We were up 14-12 and then ended the first half being outscored 28-7. They just fell apart. Oh well. They had a good season. Better luck next year.

I’ve got quite an update for you today. Not only has it been a few days, but I since last posting I had one of the best days in recent memory.
Last Thursday was St. Patrick’s Day. While most of my college was drinking green beer and drunk by noon I was celebrating in a different fashion. Okay, so I wasn’t celebrating the holiday at all, but you get what I mean. After getting through class (where most notably we were taught a lesson in bracketology by my Religion & Science professor) I got to hang out with the Joel Helms for the first time since October. He’s going to be here for six weeks, so get in line. We had lunch at Momo’s at around 1 pm and I basically talked the whole time (weird, I know). The Captain joined after about an hour, then Joel took off and I hung out with Dave until around 4 pm talking over some pretty deep theological questions, a few of them that came up in my Bible study the night before. I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but a day spent with both Dave and Joel already makes it a highly ranked day, but there’s more.

I’m having a hard time believing it but my sister turns 17 today. Happy birthday Alison!
I have to say that last night’s episode of 24 was super lame. The twenty or so mercenaries coming to get Jack couldn’t kill any of the four people in the store they were hiding in. It took a pathetic last gasp shot just to wound Paul. Sarah being fired by Michelle was done in a very sloppy manner. It just wasn’t believable at all. I hope Sarah becomes evil somehow, otherwise her character was a waste. The best part of the whole episode was the part I thought I’d like the least. The chemistry between Tony and Michelle is actually a fun part to watch. I’m not too keen on Audrey playing match-maker between the two of them, but I guess someone had to do it. And let it be known that I was right: Jack torturing Paul is making Audrey have second thoughts about leaving Paul for Jack. I so called that one. From the preview it looks like Dina will be coming back next episode and will have a significant role for a while unless she gets killed. It’s too bad; I was kind of hoping she was done.

Goo! It’s the first day after spring break and I’m not diggin it at all. I woke up at 7:30 this morning and it almost killed me. I hope I make it through the day. The rest of my spring break was blessedly slow and uneventful. I did not end up going to Mobile, mostly because I never heard from Andy. What did I do, you ask?

I’m on spring break! And I’m doing nothing. It’s by choice. I didn’t really have a good option this year that wasn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg. This coming weekend I might make a trip over to Mobile, Alabama to see the Dead Sea Scrolls (I have no idea what they’re doing there) but that’s still in the works. My roommate also decided not to do anything for spring break but he’s been working the women’s ACC basketball tournament this weekend since Thursday. So I’ve been all alone. Whatever. As for right now I’m content with sleeping in late, playing piano, and getting odd jobs done. I feel very relaxed.
