I’m Not Impressed

Quote of the Day: “Can God actually call you to two different things that are both good?” — Inese Radzins, my Christian Tradition professor, throwing out a rhetorical question based on a woman being called to both motherhood and to being a preacher, and essentially having to choose one

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” –Isaiah 30:21

It’s sad but true: the Lady Seminoles lost to the UConn Huskies last night 70-52. We were doing so well through the first 10 minutes of the game. We even outscored them in the second half. We were up 14-12 and then ended the first half being outscored 28-7. They just fell apart. Oh well. They had a good season. Better luck next year.

The newest episode of 24 was not so hot. I’m becoming disappointed in what I used to think was a constant in the universe. Part of the problem is that there is no one telling Jack that he can’t do the crazy things he’s doing. Division isn’t involved as much this season. They’re only involvement was to send Michelle over to replace Driscoll, and she’s letting Jack to whatever. Speaking of Michelle, this episode had no more drama between her and Tony. The drama between Jack and Audrey is tiresome. Send Paul to a real hospital and get him and Audrey off the show now! And they brought back Chloe! What the heck?! Have her stay or have her leave but don’t do both in the same season, both times for stupid reasons. And the whole thing with the unloaded gun is the worst of all. Why? Because they did that last season! But at least Jack had the guts to pull the trigger on his own partner. Dina wussed out. ARGH!

I think I failed to mention this from last Friday, but I applied for on-campus housing. I’m looking to get into McCollum with Aaron, Jason, and Kyle. If that doesn’t work our back-up plan is to live in Kellum. I don’t think I’m going to have any trouble getting into McCollum. My priority number was good enough to get in last year, and it’s only gone up since then. But the other three guys will all only be sophomores next year and I’m worried that housing is going to screw us over because of that. I mean I trust that we’ll end up where we’re supposed to end up, but it would be nice for housing to do something right. I’ve had three straight years of housing incompetence. It would be nice to leave on a good note.

I’m so over this week. I’m ready for Easter.
