Of Course The Marlins Are A Playoff Team

Okay, so it’s been about elevendy billion years since I last updated. And it’s a day before the first day of the baseball season, which means I have to put my picks in now. So here they are.

National League:
East: Braves
Central: Cardinals
West: Dodgers
Wild Card: Marlins

American League:
East: Yankees
Central: Twins
West: Angels
Wild Card: Red Sox

Yes I know, almost identical to last year’s post season. What can I say, not too many teams that weren’t on top impressed me this off season or this spring. I pick the Marlins because I’m a homer (duh) and because they actually do have a really good lineup, and I’m not the only one saying so. Last year’s NL wild card was the Astros but I think they lost too many pieces and their old pitchers are even older. I will not pick anyone to win the AL or NL East divisions until the year after the Yanks and Braves lose it. They’ve been too consistent in the regular season to go against. The Cards are basically the only team that got better in the NL Central. The NL West just isn’t that good, and I’ll give any team with Gagne more than just a chance to win their division. The Twins have no real competition, though the Indians are getting better. The Angels just do everything right, especially when it comes to fielding the ball. And you can’t leave out the defending champs, who very well could win the division this year.

This past Thursday we had the final Nav worship night of the semester. We had it over at 210 and even though it rained we had a good turnout. I was back on piano for the first time since November, and I even sang a little. I do need to get better at the whole sing-and-play-at-the-same-time thing though. For the final song we asked Dave to lead us in singing We Will Dance, which is his signature song. It’s a strange thing to think that next fall I’ll be in charge of a completely new band. It’s exciting too, but it’s still not sunk in.

So on Wednesday night I stayed up late to get some homework done. Thursday was a busy day, and thankfully my first class on Friday was canceled so I could sleep in a bit. I was still a little tired as the day progress though, so Friday night I laid down at 6:30 just to rest and I didn’t wake up until 7:00… Saturday morning! Nothing beats 12+ hours of sleep.

I might be going to Monica’s engagement luau tonight. But as for the rest of the day I don’t have anything planned. And tomorrow should be a pretty boring day too.
