Symphony

Symphony by J.A. Ledwith

As I sit again this morning
Waiting on Your presence full
I see the backdrop here adorning
The colors, shapes and sounds performing
A symphony without a lull

As the chorus grows still higher
I hear the whisper of Your voice
Not in wind nor quake nor fire
Still You come with strong desire
And drown out my heart’s raucous noise

It then becomes my turn to speak
My turn to add a humble verse
And though my situation’s bleak
From Your Word again You speak
Your perfect power against my curse

I live this life, You lead the way
You and I like partners joint
And though I have so much to say
You answer me without delay
Like melody and counterpoint

The coda comes; my heart grows fonder
Now at peace, You take my strife
Yet as I leave You this I ponder
Why am I so prone to wander
When Your love is better than life?
