So I went down to the FSU housing office today to pick up an application to become night staff. Basically I would work the front desk of a dorm in the wee hours of the AM. I’m pretty much a lock for the job. There’s a high turnover rate for night staff. But the only question that’s giving me trouble on the application is this one:
Please list and briefly discuss your past work experiences that are relevant to the Night Staff program. [Emphasis added]
So I left my old home today and returned to my newest one. I had to get up at 5:45 AM so I’m a little cranky.
So I gave into my addiction. I now own Halo. But Andy’s going to make sure that I’m not on it all the time. I’m only going to play if I’ve got other people who want to play multi-player mode. I still believe that life is too short for video games, but if I can build relationships this way then it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Nothing else to talk about. Got Bible study tonight. Until then I have to do my laundry. Most college kids get their parents to do it for them when they go home. Not me. I don’t know if that makes me mature or a chump.

I have nothing exciting to report. I went to St. Mark’s today for their Eucharist service this morning. I saw a lot of my old teachers. I always love to see Mr. Hays when I go back. Mr. Hays was the only good math teacher I’ve ever had. I took math from him for three years: 6th grade math, pre-algebra, and algebra. I think the craziest moment was seeing Mrs. McMullin, who was my 1st grade teacher… 14 years ago!! I also saw Tim Wilcox, who was my youth pastor when I was in middle school. He hasn’t been the youth leader at that church in about 4 years, so I was surprised to see him there. It turns out he’s now working at the school as a gym coach. He’s in between jobs I assume, having just finished up seminary.
I confess to you friends. I lied to you. Last night in a moment of weakness I played Halo. But it was with the guys on my floor, over in Allen and Adam’s room. My R/A Robert got in on the action too. All around it was a fun time. But nevertheless, I still went back on my word. But really, did you think with people like Tony around I’d have a chance of not playing for any real amount of time?
The other thing about last night was Andy had his floor dinner to get spiritual discussions going. He didn’t discuss as much as he had hoped I don’t think, but he did find one guy who wants to start looking a the Bible with him. I’m happy for him; this is something he’s felt like he should have been doing all semester and I’m glad he’s found someone now.
I just want today to end so bad. Tonight I’ll be in south Florida. North Palm Beach to be exact. I’m going on a weekend excursion to see my family. My grandma lives in NPB, and my parents and sister have been down there this whole week for Alison’s February break. So I’m going to hang out with them for the last part of their break. If I weren’t going there to see them now I wouldn’t see them until the last week of June when I get home from Europe. There’s even a rumor that my cousin Ryan who goes to UM might be there this weekend, as well as his parents. I don’t know if that’s going to happen but if it does I’m all for it. So I just have to make it through my Religion & Its Critics class, pack my bag and get myself to the airport and then I’m off.
If any of you haven’t seen Hey Ya, Charlie Brown yet, it’s must see TV. It was taken down off of its creator’s website because of a cease and desist order from United Feature Syndicate, but I found some dude who put it on his site. I’m going to save it to my computer, but I’m not going to post it up myself. You can check it out on this guy’s site for as long as he’s got it up. Trust me, this is hot! You’ll need QuickTime, but almost every computer has that right?

My first full day without my seizure meds is complete and I’m still here! Woo hoo!! And I had chocolate cake last night at Carrie’s surprise party and lived. Didn’t even get a headache. Hopefully that’s a sign of things to come.
Two more days. Four more classes. Then it’s off to south Florida!

So I have a new addiction. All year I’ve been doing this Coke Music raffle thing, and recently I won an electronic dart board. Andy and I put it up this weekend and I’ve been playing it nonstop ever since. It’s probably annoying my suitemates like nothing else I’ve ever done, which is saying something I promise you.
If you noticed the book I’m reading then you’re probably worried about me. Or you know that I’m taking Religion & Its Critics (or Atheism 101 as I call it). Listen, I thought Schleiermacher was a nut. I thought Feuerbach was a nut. But I know that Marx is a nut.

So over the last two days I’ve played more Halo than previously combined. Okay, maybe not, but I’ve played a lot of Halo, let’s put it that way. After Navs on Thursday (which was hot, more on that in a minute) I played for about 3 hours at Kyle & Scott’s place, and on Friday I played for 6 (!!!) hours over at Tony’s place.
