Josh and Kyle are both first-year staff for the FSU Navigators through the EDGE Corps program. This semester they each taught at Nav Night for the first time. Recordings of those talks have been added to the FSU Navigators Podcast. I thought I’d share them with you because they both did such a good job.
These posts are each about The Navigators. Some are about my time on staff, others are about my time involved as a student.
First a few of our guys in the FSU Navigators made a video inviting the ladies in the ministry to the annual Valentine’s Banquet, called Stuff Nav Guys Say. So, naturally, the men created Stuff Nav Girls Say and played it at the banquet itself. Once again, there’s a lot of inside jokes that only our Navs will understand but it’s still a fun video. Well, I think it’s a fun video. I’m not sure how the women felt about it.
To get the ladies of the FSU Navigators excited about the upcoming Valentine’s Banquet a few of the guys made a fun video lampooning some of the things the typical Nav guy says and does. Yeah, there’s a lot of inside jokes specific to the current students, but anyone who’s ever been around a collegiate Navs ministry will see things they recognize.
The same guys also created Stuff Nav Girls Say, a video they played at the banquet itself.
Messages from Ignite 2012
Drew Frazer gave three great messages at Ignite 2012, the spring conference for the collegiate Navigators in the Florida region. They were recorded and are now available online for streaming and download.
Back in January I got to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Kyle Kozloski and the rest of the FSU Navigators staff team let me teach two Nav Night messages in back-to-back weeks on the same subject. During the Christmas holiday Kyle and I both took time to consider what topic I ought to teach. Earlier in the fall semester I’d told Kyle how I’d spent most of 2011 reading the Old Testament during my time alone with God each day, and that during that time it seemed as if every other day God had something to say to me about idolatry. Kyle called me up late in December and asked me to teach on the subject. I’d been leaning in that direction myself and eagerly accepted. And so began a crazy month of condensing an entire year’s worth of learning into two forty-minute talks.
You can listen to both messages online (embedded below) plus even more messages by me, other staff, and our student leaders on the FSU Navigators Podcast.

It’s a great day for podcasting! In this week’s episode I talk about the two-part message series I’m teaching for the students of the FSU Navigators. I gave the first message last Thursday. Now I have the challenge of creating a compelling sequel, which I’ll teach this coming Thursday.

- Part one of the message series will be online soon. I’ll update this post with the link once it is.
- The FSU Navigators Podcast is pretty sweet. Messages and testimonies from staff, students, and guest speakers. It has a Facebook page too.
- Recordings of several of my Nav Night messages are available online if you’re interested.
- Shaun and Sara are the reason so many people missed my first talk. Congratulations to the happy couple, who got married this past Saturday!

Coming to you from the Qdoba in Louisville. I wrote the talking point notes on a napkin. It seemed appropriate. In this episode I talk to you about the Navigators National Conference, which I attended over the past four days. These are some initial thoughts, the ones that are on the forefront of my mind and the ones I could squeeze into an under-ten-minute podcast episode.

- The website for the National Conference will have lots of content on it like videos from the various talks.
- My friend Luke has a blog and is on Twitter.
- The talk on Moses and the promised land was given by Ruth Haley Barton.

Watch on Vimeo: Generations – Sara
Bryan Zhang has created his third video for the Generations series, which highlights college students who have been impacted by the discipleship of a student or staff in The Navigators. In this video Sara deLeon, a senior at FSU, shares how she was influenced by the discipleship of Lauren Paxton.
On October 13 I had the privilege of teaching the students of the FSU Navigators for the first time this semester. Each fall our ministry teaches a six-week series on the Wheel Illustration. Last year I contributed a message on prayer. This year Kyle, our campus director, asked if I would speak on fellowship. I had never taught in a large-group setting on the subject, not specifically anyway, and was eager for the opportunity.
