Last week I was in Chicago for the FSU Navigators’ spring break trip. This trip has been a major part of my life since this past November when we first started cooking up the idea. I was put in charge of the trip, mostly because I had made a couple of key connections with Chicago Nav staff this past summer. Today I’d like to talk about the trip and a little about the planning process that led up to it.

Wow! Holy cow! Were you watching last night? I tell you, 24 never ceases to amaze me. But this time it came at a very high price. Edgar Stiles, we hardly knew thee.
Okay, here’s a trivia question for you 24 buffs. This is the fourth time that an episode has ended with a “silent clock” (where the final second tick off without the trademark beeping).
Each time it has been to honor the death of a significant character. I’ll give you a hint: there has never been more than one in any single season. I will be very impressed if you can tell me the names of the other three people. Ready, go!
I’m on spring break. I have not left Tallahassee yet, mostly because I wanted to get some work done on the job search, as well as a little homework here and there. It has yielded some good results. I found a very interesting job in Virgina yesterday that I think I’m going to apply to. It’s with crosswalk.com and I’d be a contributing writer. Aside from work, it’s also been cool to be the roommate of Rob and Sweet Joe for the past few days at Project Special (b.k.a the Projectz). Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be taking a bus to central Florida to spend a few days with my grandmother. I’ve heard she’s really excited, making all kinds of preparations. It’ll be fun. A good, relaxing way to end the break.
I’ve got some good news from a friend that I’d like to pass along and celebrate. My buddy Mark Biezska was accepted by EDGE Corps! He suspects that he’ll be out in the midwest somewhere come this fall. I’m really excited for him. Who knows, it could be me too.
Goo! It’s the first day after spring break and I’m not diggin it at all. I woke up at 7:30 this morning and it almost killed me. I hope I make it through the day. The rest of my spring break was blessedly slow and uneventful. I did not end up going to Mobile, mostly because I never heard from Andy. What did I do, you ask?

I’m on spring break! And I’m doing nothing.
It’s by choice. I didn’t really have a good option this year that wasn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg. This coming weekend I might make a trip over to Mobile, Alabama to see the Dead Sea Scrolls (I have no idea what they’re doing there) but that’s still in the works. My roommate also decided not to do anything for spring break but he’s been working the women’s ACC basketball tournament this weekend since Thursday. So I’ve been all alone.
Whatever. As for right now I’m content with sleeping in late, playing piano, and getting odd jobs done. I feel very relaxed.

If any of you are interested in seeing what I’ve been up to this past week, the final product is up and running on eBay as we speak (is “as we speak” the proper term when writing in a blog?). The address is: http://stores.ebay.com/knobsnends
I’m really tired. I’m not sleepy tired, just physically tired. I feel out of shape too. It’s like this. I’ve been on my feet all day today and yesterday, so my legs and my back ache. But I haven’t done much else, so I feel like I’ve got a ’secretary spread’ happening. It’s pretty gross, but it’s probably all in my head. Either that or it’s all in my gut.
If this job has taught me anything so far it’s that I will never be able to work a 9 to 5 desk job. It’s too boring and stressful all at the same time. What I’m doing I find unappealing and slow, but there’s a lot on the line for my aunt and uncle here, so there’s stress there too.

It’s been an awfully long time since I last posted something here. I have begun my spring break, and I’m spending it in Michigan. Hey, listen, when you live in Florida, going to Florida for spring break is not that appealing, especially when you’ve lived there for 18 of your nearly 20 years.
Actually I’m having a lot of fun up here. I’m living with my aunt and her two boys. My uncle is out of town on business right now, but he should be back by the middle of the week. My two cousins are Bo, who is 13, and Jeff, who is 11. They’re a lot of fun. I’m one of their oldest cousins, so they think the world of me. I can’t say I don’t enjoy that.
Both of them are musicians too. Bo plays trombone and Jeff plays trumpet. They’re actually pretty good for beginner band students.
